Project Response is a ministry started 25 years ago after the Los Angeles riots in response to the need for food in a South Central Los Angeles parish. Our mission today is to collect food for the needy of our community to help the working poor, elderly, disabled, and homeless... We believe that each person has dignity and has the right to adequate food.
The food we collect is distributed through our parish food pantry which is operated by our St. Vincent de Paul chapter. Help us to respond to the needs of our neighbors. We call St Paschal parishioners 3 times per year, two times to donate a bag of groceries and one time for baby items. We need volunteers to make calls to approximately 10 parishioners and pick up the food from their homes on pick up days. We also need substitute drivers and callers to help when needed. The work is easy and rewarding.
For more information, contact Paul 418-0676 or Cathy 499-6277. If you are new to the parish and not on our call lists and would like to donate food, please give us a call.
