• Assists the parents in the religious formation of their children and instructs the student in Catholic teachings and liturgical life

• Supports the students and the parents for the upcoming complex world of teen life by providing a Catholic Christian environment

• Curriculums that integrate scripture and doctrine in each lesson with various classroom activities

Attendance Notification:

Please call Religious Education Secretary Judy Pollock at
(805) 496-0222 ext. 114 if you know your child will be absent.

Attendance:

To ensure your child's safety and help organize the year, we ask parent cooperation in the following areas.

Students are expected to maintain regular attendance at class.

If a student is absent, parents will be contacted unless the Religious Education office has received prior notification of the absence. A student will be marked late if they are not in the classroom when the beginning bell rings.

Traffic Safety Policy:

Please follow our Parking Monitors' directions for the safety of all our children. 

If you are going to drop off and pick up your children, please do so only in the flagpole area in front of Saint Paschal Baylon School. It is always safer to park your car and meet your children in their classrooms.

One lane of traffic is marked for dismissal.

Please do not allow young children to cross the parking lot unassisted.

Students remaining on the property when the staff is ready to leave will be taken to the Pastoral Center to wait for their rides.

Teaching Touching Safety Program

Grades K through 8th

Teaching Touching Safety is an empowerment program organized by the Archdiocese to help children recognize inappropriate behavior and learn some tools to protect themselves.

The teaching material is developmentally suitable for each age group. The six lessons are organized in a three-year cycle so each child experiences a  different lesson plan each time the materials are presented.  Two lessons are taught each school year and are incorporated during the students class time. Teaching Touching Safety is a safety program--not sex education.

Teachers, Aides and Volunteers are required to attend Virtus, which is an adult awareness, education and training program on boundaries, ethics and sexual abuse. For more information, visit www.virtus.org.
