This incredible ministry is a big privilege and a big responsibility. Sacristy ministers, or Sacristans, first and foremost, have to be committed to serving our Lord with reverence. Every Mass is different and some involve more duties than others. Sacristans set up the Mass for the priest, which entails many details, such as purifying the vessels correctly and making sure that everything is in its place.
