Picture Book

This long delayed project is finally complete!  We should expect all of the books to be delivered the first week of March.  I truly regret it has taken so long, I must admit there were considerable delays during the time that I was sick last year, and I apologize.  However, I am happy to say that in only a few more weeks they will be here.  We hope they will make it easier for all of us to recognize our brothers and sisters in the Lord here at St. Paschal's.

The University

Catalogs are available in the back of the Church as long as supplies last.  This year the University includes more parishes and speakers than ever before.  We will also re-order the free CD's to replace the 900 that were distributed in just one weekend in December.

Parish Events

The Parish Festival hosted by the Men's Club was one of the very best ever and continues a successful three year trend of netting over 100K.  Each year, the Parish, the Men's Club, and the School support a large project for St. Paschal's.  We have recently renovated the school classrooms (that are also used by many parish organizations), renovated the Hall stage, floor, and sound system, and re-paved the parking lot.  This year we will renovate the parish athletic field to make it more durable for parking on Sunday, (even after a rain) as well as more suitable for school games during the week.  We will install a high quality rear projection system in the Hall as well.  The parking lot will also receive a light surface coating this summer to complete last year's job.  The Men's Club collected around 80 family food baskets at Thanksgiving and again at Christmas and provided gifts and food made the difference again.

St. Paschal's School

About 500 people enjoyed a wonderful and very successful evening at the annual Dinner GALA at the Reagan Library.  In January we also welcomed many new school family applicants at our Open House.  Applications will be accepted up to Feb 21st.  The school has been full the last few years and will certainly be full again next year with 350 students and 34 full and part time faculty and staff.  Thank you again to the GALA committee and all who to support our school!

High School Projects

The committee continues to evaluate different land proposals in the Conejo Valley area.  Land values have fluctuated recently so there are new opportunities coming forward all the time.  The group continues to be optimistic that this project will go forward.  The Cardinal also continues his search for a religious order to help staff the school.

Adoration Chapel

This March, the Chapel celebrates three years of 24-hour adoration of Our Lord in the Eucharist.  As you might know, we invited those who enter the Chapel to sign a guest book.  While it is certainly not required, many do sign and the total number is counted each week.  So far, over 100,000 people have taken some time to pray in the presence of the Lord.  Many sign up for a regular hour each week or month as a useful way to keep their relationship with God fresh and alive.  We remain grateful to the hourly captains and Jeff and Marcella Ketelhut for their leadership.

Archaeological Tour of the Holy Land

This May 13th to the 24th.  I will be honored to lead another tour of the Holy Land and Jordan.  Our tour will emphasize the archaeological evidence about famous biblical sites.  Our Catholic tour company is headquartered in Jerusalem and has been in business since 1930.  You are welcome to pick up a brochure in the office.  I hope to offer this trip every year so that can plan for the future should you feel the call to go.  See you in Jerusalem!
